What does "Self Understanding" mean?

It means that our well-being flourishes

when we include all that we are.

This Harmonic Attendness teaches us to experience ourselves

with intimacy and dwellment -

to accompany whatever unfolds within.

At times, we may feel the urge

to get rid of the parts in us that hurt,

and seem to repeat themselves endlessly.

Self Understanding suggests that they repeat themselves

because they are a form of help in disguise.

That distress is not a mistake -

but the moment we reach the edge of our self-perception,

and no longer know how to be beyond it.

This means that the sensations and behaviours we struggle with

are, in fact, expressions of inner identifications

that we find hard to contain.

Reality is broader than our capacity to perceive it fully.

Therefore, an invisible gap exists between us and it.

Reality invites us to remain part of it -

by staying open within it, without limitation.

Survival taught us to prefer stability, control, and closure.

So naturally, anything that challenges our self-image

makes us contract, avoid, and resist.

This is our refusal

to meet reality in a deeper, more complex way

than what we believed it to be.

As this refusal intensifies,

the gap between us and reality deepens.

And we try to bridge this gap

with what we already know -

 insisting on preserving.

The body, the mind, and the emotions

all become involved in building a substitute inner reality,

to help us avoid seeing what we feel compelled

to hide from ourselves.

These are what we often call "patterns",

"problems", or "harmful behaviours".

Focusing on them can lead to endless engagement -

creating an impression of occurrences,

while the focus gives them a life of their own.

They are not the problem -

but the very best solution we found.

They are creations of unprocessed fear,

born from the wish not to meet reality

as it fully emerged within us.

When we are open to meet it -

we are open to meet ourselves.

Thus, the inner struggle transforms into well-being,

as the energy we once used for concealment turns into freedom.

Without understanding the origins of these behaviours,

patterns remain chronic -

because they continue to fulfill the deeper role we assigned them.

Self Understanding invites us to meet ourselves

with honesty and gentleness -

in the notion that every part of us holds a poetic beauty,

a gesture of harmony we long to embody.

This kind of Self-Meeting offers healing not through erasure, bypass, regulation, or suppression -

but by making our inner dynamics refracted

so we may return to the Wholofied Reality -

by bridging the inner and outer worlds.

With sincerity and playfulness,

we can restore ease, freedom, aliveness, and vitality.
